Seasonal Cheese Care Team Member

Position Summary

Join our team as a seasonal worker. We are hiring now for our busy holiday season. Be a part of a high-functioning team that feels the satisfaction of accomplishing a good day’s work. This crew will be deployed caring for and wrapping cheese, creating mail order gift boxes, and maintaining a clean, safe workplace. This role is a great way to experience the sense of teamwork and excellence Jasper Hill is known for. (Potential for seasonal positions to turn into permanent positions)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·       General cheese work: care, receiving, turning, and wrapping

·       Wrap and package cheese

·       Operating and maintaining equipment (Shred, Exact weight, Gruffy, etc.)

·       Maintain a clean working environment; contribute to ongoing cleaning and maintenance schedules

·       Follow all food safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices.

·       Supporting mail order and wholesale fulfillment, packaging boxes, building pallets and preparing orders for delivery

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

·       Detail- and process-oriented, with good follow-through

·       Able to learn quickly, ask questions, share concerns, seek information/answers, problem solve

·       Computer literate

·       Love of artisan cheese is a plus!

Physical Requirements

Working in a manufacturing environment, you will be walking, standing, and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs. Certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, and working in enclosed areas. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.  At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear, and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends.  Compensation  $15-$18/hr

Full-time and Part-time positions are available
